The Bead Project at Urban Glass in Brooklyn, New York 

In the Spring of 2016, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to learn how to create italian glass beads on a hot head torch. A program based out of Urban Glass in Brooklyn has been running a 10 week class for a small handful of women. Amy Lemaire, glass artist,  instructed our class that met for four hours each week. During the residency all materials, class costs, and studio fees were at no cost to women of The Bead Project. Over the ten week residency, I produced a whole container of beads, created pieces of jewelry and made some awesome artist friends. We displayed our work at the end of our residency in the Gallery at Urban Glass.
